About Us

What We Do…

We solve difficult challenges by working out creative solutions. We work in a range of sectors like Agriculture, Tourism, Careers, Business Development and Retail. For example:

  • In agriculture there are many organisations teaching people how to grow things but `AgriPlanner` teaches people about the business cycle and how to make money by growing things.
  • In Tourism we are working with SAA to develop a programme called `Wings of Welcome` which teaches people to understand tourists and their needs, and helps local people to be better ambassadors and provide a better welcome.
  • In Careers we are helping to develop an interactive programme for grade 9’s to help them identify their strengths and interests so that they make informed choices when choosing their subjects for Grade 10, 11, and 12. And for Grade 11’s to inspire them to investigate different career options.
  • In Retail we customise a highly interactive role-play simulation to empower staff to engage effectively with dozens of potential customer situations in a safe learning environment. This provides consistency in customer service throughout an organisation and a certain level of expertise in every customer-facing employee.
  • We love games, colour, action and involvement. Most of our training tools involve learners in discussion, challenge, debate and moving around the learning area to complete challenges before the other teams get in first!
How we do this…

We spend a great deal of time and focused attention on unpacking problems and then breaking them down into ‘thin slices’. This methodology is used across learning materials, development platforms, business solutions and innovative challenges. Some comments from our clients while using our methodology:

“This is learning without thinking”

“Look how far we have come from where we started, we have come a long way already without even realising it!”

“The team delivered amazing results in a very short time.”

“They are not experts in our field but changed the way we looked at our business without realising it we can re-engineer our business to enable our long term sustainability.”

“Without a doubt Just Think provides a unique perspective that often motivates the most elegant solution.”

Our track record…

  • In 1987 set up and ran the Triple Trust Organisation training and support for 60 000 unemployed South Africans.
  • Developed learning materials for Brand Knew teaching illiterate people to read using the powerful brand names they already know. This programme was deployed in hundreds of corporates across South Africa helping many workers to read for the first time.
  • Developed the “Best Game” simulation to teach how money works and grow in the basic cycle of any business. This programme is now being used in over 75 countries and is translated into more than 14 languages.
  • Worked with SAIE to develop the Business Ventures range of programs to introduce entrepreneurship in all grades at schools. Business Ventures is being used extensively in South African schools and around the world.
  • A part of the development team for BSAOL.com an international online shop for South African producers (from the formal and the most informal). BSAOL was one of 1200 entrants to the World Bank Development Marketplace Competition, was flown to Washington DC as a finalist and landed up as one of the top 5 winners. Sadly BSAOL did not survive the dot bomb!

Our training and learning methods…

We hate textbooks and have an aversion to traditional classroom techniques.
We have an internal test! If it isn’t fun it’s back to the drawing board!
Learners rule - We treat them with the greatest respect.
